RELIGION: Part of our Morality
Many people, maybe some of us, do good things because we are afraid to be punished by the Supreme being. Some of us will say that good things came from the word of God but think of this, God nor Bible do not tell us that rape is bad and who tell us about it? How come that the priest that is so religious have many cases of rape before and up until now. When the bible said that we shall not kill then we won't kill and why we obey to do not jaywalking even if it is not in the bible? We have this philosophy called Secular Morality that talks about morality outside of religious traditions. According to Albert Einstein " A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education and social ties and need, no religions basic is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way of he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hopes of reward after death". For example, our life taught us about the rights of everyone that can’t be violated, we knew it from our experiences and at school. It means that we can also rely our morality in the lesson that we learned and in our Everyday experiences.
Morality doesn't need the whole practice of religion because religion will only guide us to know the different of good and bad. It always depends in the practice we have grown up with and the knowledge that we knew. Yes, there can be morality without religion but there is no religion without moral. There is this one quote saying, "You don’t need religion to have morals. If you cant determine right from wrong then you lack empathy not religion." . To make it simple, We do not really need religion to be good, We just need an open mind and a willing heart.
